Back to School at Sharon Arts This Fall & You're Invited- Open House Sept. 8th!

(August 29, 2007- Sharon NH) Back to school time isn't just for kids you know! Sharon Arts Center, a non-profit organization devoted to arts education invites emerging artists of all ages and levels of experience to explore our Fall offerings this September. Our Open House on Saturday, September 8th from 10AM - 2:30PM offers a unique look behind-the-scenes at the SAC school and invites you to explore various media without the commitment of time and materials. SAC faculty and staff will welcome you with coffee and refreshments, provide tours of our state-of-the-art school facility, and give you a chance to attend low-cost workshops in a variety of media during two, two-hour sessions (10-12 and 12:30-2:30). Attend one session for $20 or two for $35 and bring a bag lunch to enjoy in between sessions. From 12 to 12:30, bring a bag lunch and Sharon Arts will provide cookies and coffee as you enjoy getting to know other artists and newcomers to our school.

Offerings for the Open House include: Digital Photography, Drawing Animals, Polymer Clay, Wheel-Thrown Pottery, Glass Bead, Weaving by Hand, Watercolor, Jewelry, Handbuilding with Clay, and Pastels. All workshops are lead by Sharon Arts talented teaching faculty and all materials and tools will be courtesy of the SAC school. Adults and youth ages 13+ are welcome to attend the open house workshops. Sharon Arts has been proudly serving the community for over 60 years and invites you to be a part of the energy and creativity that are the hallmark of Sharon Arts as we begin a new decade of service!

Our full schedule of weekly course and workshops available at any SAC location and through our web site at www.sharonarts.org . Weekly fall courses begin the week of September 17th, offering open house participants time to reflect on their experiences with us as they consider further exploration in the fall session.

Our organization will protect and preserve the traditions and history of art and craft, while embracing and encouraging innovations of experimental media and advances in technology.

As a highly valued, integral part of our community, the Sharon Arts Center will be known as the comprehensive arts resource in our region, where the artist in all of us, from the newly-awakened to the long-established, can connect with the intrinsic value of art in our lives.
