Chinese Watercolor Artist Jinghua Gao Dalia is featured during September
at Sharon Arts Downtown Galleries

PETERBOROUGH, NH --- Sharon Arts Downtown Galleries in Depot Square is pleased to present Chinese watercolor artist, Jinghua Gao
Dalia as "Featured Artist of the Month" in September. Sharon Arts, a non-profit arts organization that's committed to connecting
the community with the arts, created the "Featured Artist of the Month" programs to showcase a local artist and their work, and
to educate the public about their artistic process.
Dalia, a resident of Pepperell, MA, is a Chinese brush painting watercolorist. She creates paintings depicting traditional Chinese landscapes, birds and flowers, and figures in landscape. Her portfolio includes a range of concepts and techniques; from traditional to contemporary Chinese subject matter and from detailed to freestyle painting. Dalia expresses that she views nature "not as a 'still life,' but in its most profound relationship to humankind as the sustainer of life and the source of lifeÕs deepest meaning," and this is what she aims to depict in her paintings. Jinghua Gao Dalia began studying and creating art since she was nine years old by the side of her father, Gao Yi-hung, a well-known Chinese artist and the calligraphy master for the President of the Republic of China at the time. "I also had the unique opportunity to study with some of China's most outstanding watercolorists," says Dalia. She went on to get her Fine Arts Degree in Taiwan. She studied at both the National Taiwan Normal University as well as the University of Hawaii, where she participated in their graduate program. Her work has been shown globally, in places including Taiwan, Beijing, Korea, New York, California, Boston, Ma, and Honolulu, HI. She teaches at the Sharon Arts School of Art & Craft in Sharon, NH and her work is for sale at the Downtown Galleries year round. The mission of Sharon Arts Center, a non-profit organization, is to support and serve artists and craftspeople, to engage the community in the artistic process, and to foster the relationship between artists and the community through education, exhibitions, the promotion and sale of art and craft, as well as through special programs and events. The Sharon Arts Downtown Galleries in Depot Square, Peterborough include a Fine Craft Gallery and Store, an Artists' Resource Center (selling art supplies), a Juried Artist Gallery, and an Exhibition Gallery. The Sharon Arts Downtown Galleries are located in Depot Square in Downtown Peterborough. Hours are Monday - Thursday 10am to 5pm, Friday and Saturday 10am to 6pm, and Sundays 11am - 4pm (Exhibition Gallery is closed on Mondays). The public is welcome, admission to the Galleries is free, ample parking in Depot Square. Sharon Arts also offers a wide variety of art classes and programs in the school facility in Sharon, NH.
