LGBTQIA+ Workplace Rights Panel Discussion

Date: 02.09.2018 - 02.09.2018

Time: 05:30 PM - 07:00 PM

Location: NHIA, French Hall, 148 Concord St, Manchester, NH

NHIA is pleased to announce that their Student Leadership Committee has partnered with the Office of Career and Alumni Services to host an evening of discussion about the laws, strategies, communication, career activism, and experiences of and pertaining to the LGBTQIA+ community.

The public is welcome to join NHIA on February 9, 2018 at 5:30pm for an evening of food, music, and lively discussion. Attendees wil have the oppotunity to talk with creative professionals in the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as supporting allies, about how to overcome challenges in the workplace. The discussion will start with round table discussions led by NHIA students, followed by a panel presentation. Presenters will speak about their experiences and then field questions developed in the round table discussions. We are pleased that the evening will be moderated by NHIA’s Creative Writing Chair, Dr. Monica Bilson.

“With more out LGBTQIA+ people entering the workforce, it’s increasingly important to discuss the laws that protect us and the ways that we can support and educate our peers and coworkers.” Kaitlyn Hanson, Executive Chair, NHIA’s Student Leadership Committee. “We’re very excited to open this discussion to the public because it’s an important issue that affects us all, not just those in the LGBTQIA+ community.”
