I have had the good fortune to work with clay for over 30 years. Living near the ocean for my whole life, I find inspiration in the seacoast daily. A walk with my sweet dog, Rosie, along the shore can bring a wealth of ideas and I return to the studio eager to try them out. The garden is another source of great pleasure and inspiration for me. Floral and leaf patterns and designs abound in nature and they show up in my work often.
I love sharing my passion for clay and teaching brings me great satisfaction. It is very exciting for me to watch students improve and and grow in their skill and concepts. Teaching also brings many rewards and challenges to help me grow in my own practice.
I have enjoyed the benefit of studying with many great, talented teachers. Most influential among them have been Gerry Williams, Makoto Yabe, Barbara Knutson, Sandi Pierantozzi, and Bill Daley. I am grateful to all my teachers and mentors for their guidance and shared knowledge.
